The Open Gardens Festival, created from the bottom up by Podkowa's inhabitants and neighbours, as well as social organisations and cultural institutions, has been attracting crowds of Podkowa residents and guests since 2005, presenting the extraordinary hospitality and creativity as well as the enormous creative potential and social capital of our Garden City. It is no wonder that Podkowa's example has been followed by other towns and cities around Warsaw with a similar character.
This year's 21st edition of the Open Gardens will take place exceptionally early, from 30 May-1 June.
We would like the festivities to refer to the 100-year anniversary of the founding of Podkowa, which is being celebrated this year, also through the family stories of Podkowa residents.
We warmly invite all those who have not yet signed up to the CKiIO as Festival coordinator and who would like to organise an intimate event, concert, exhibition, meeting, workshop, film screening, walk in their gardens, or who are artists and would like to open their studios, to contact us and send in their applications.
