The Jewish Theatre in Warsaw is the only stage in Poland performing in Yiddish and Polish and has been nurturing Jewish memory, language and tradition for 75 years. It is a meeting place for generations of artists and audiences, and a space where Jewish culture lives and pulsates today.
What makes up the magic of the theatre? The fabric of a costume, a wig, a sketch of a set, or perhaps the look of an actor just before he steps on stage? This exhibition is a story about theatre from the inside - about the people, objects, gestures and emotions that build a performance. We enter the dressing room, look into the eyes of the characters, and touch the story hidden in the details. Welcome to a world where every detail matters and every object carries a story - for 75 years now
