As every year, the Association of Warsaw Insurgents, of which DSH is a partner, invites you on Museums' Night to participate in meetings with Warsaw insurgents and curatorial tours of the exhibition "WARSAW POWSTANIE 1944. SPRAGNIENI WOLFNOŚCI".
In the house at 22 Dluga Street, which houses the headquarters of the Association of Warsaw Insurgents, soldiers of the Home Army have been meeting for 35 years. It is an extraordinary place, where the story of emotions and fates, including those after the war, is still alive. From November 2022, a new permanent exhibition "WARSAW POWSTANIE 1944. SPRAGNIENI WOLFNOŚCI" (1944 WARSAW POWSTING. (produced by the DSH), curated by Agnieszka Mitkowska. The exhibition brings together unique insurgent artefacts, large-format iconic photographs from the time of the Uprising, as well as accounts and memories of the 63 days of fighting and the post-war period.
As part of the Warsaw Night of Museums 2025 programme, meet Warsaw insurgents, including Bogdan Bartnikowski "Maly" and Janusz Maksymowicz "Janosz", who will share their stories, and from 22:00 curatorial tours of the permanent exhibition will begin.
The Association of Warsaw Insurgents is a veterans' organisation whose aim is to provide help and care to Warsaw insurgents and their families, to popularise the history of the Uprising and its soldiers, to represent the interests of the Association's members before the authorities and the society, to commemorate historical battle sites, to care for the graves of the fallen soldiers and to promote knowledge and ethos of the Uprising - especially among the younger generation.
