Komiksowa Warszawa is one of the largest comics festivals in Central Europe.
Its history began at the beginning of 2010, when a group of creators, publishers and enthusiasts affiliated to the Polish Comics Association decided to restore the tradition of the annual Warsaw comics festivals. Despite initial difficulties, such as a printing house fire, the eruption of an Icelandic volcano (which prevented the arrival of foreign guests) and some truly tragic events, Comics Warsaw was brought to life.
As every year, one of our main aims is to arouse the interest of those visitors to the Warsaw International Book Fair who have little to do with comics. We are organising workshops for children, a comics reading room and exhibitions. At the same time, we do not forget about strictly comic book participants, for whom we prepare meetings, autograph sessions and a lavish comic book after-party in one of Warsaw's clubs.
Passion for comics is the engine that has driven our festival for 15 years now. We believe that through it, and with the help of our many fans and volunteers, we manage to create something worthwhile.
