We would like to invite you to the vernissage of Witold Werner's photographic exhibition entitled. "Impressions - how?", which will take place on 11 May 2025 at 16:00 at the Centre for Creative Activities "Pogodna". The exhibition presents unusual landscapes that show the world in unusual lighting, emphasising the author's emotions and subjective impressions.

Impressions - or subjective impressions. None of the places photographed usually look like this. Not in the middle of the day, not by daylight. These are impressions, not a rendering of reality. I have tried to convey the atmosphere of the moment, highlighting how one can feel uncommonly in a quite ordinary place.

I have been photographing for several years. At some point it became obvious that a fairly consistent series could be identified among my landscapes. Dark, depressive images of mornings and dusks. Of course, I also like typical dawns with the sun emerging joyfully, but this is a subject already comprehensively processed by other photographers. Meanwhile, it turns out that the world looks interesting before the Sun even appears.

"How?" - because the "What?" is not important. The subjects are simple - trees, sky, water, fog. What matters is how we feel when we look at these scenes. And that can take you by surprise. Communing with the landscape in non-obvious lighting, enhanced by the under-sleep, the silence and emptiness, the waking or falling asleep of the world - all of this gives rise to previously unknown emotions.

Witold Werner is a member of the Union of Polish Wildlife Photographers. In his photography, he focuses on capturing landscapes free from the effects of human activity and documenting Polish fauna.
