Education that inspires. Science that entertains. Experiences that stay in your memory for a long time - the 5th Bemowo Science Picnic is coming! On 24 May this year from 12:00 to 17:00 we invite children and young people with carers to Górczewska Park. What have we prepared in this year's programme? Modern technologies, Academy of young medics, But space, Spherical cinema, Home laboratory, Physics on a wave, Riddles of time, ecological zone, cultural education, sport and relaxation. We will show you that science can be a fascinating adventure!
Robots and new technologies
Warsaw University of Technology will take us into the world of chemical, light and technological experiments. Here you will meet humanoid robots and vehicles designed by students. AI-powered Picbots will sketch your portrait in less than a minute! With the Military University of Technology we will take part in chemical experiments, learn about optics, photonics and the everyday use of 3D printing.
Riddles of time and detectives
With the Faculty of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw, we will take part in ceramics and flint workshops, and together we will decorate linen napkins using a technique known since the Middle Ages. In the detective office we will turn into members of an investigation team. At the crime scene we will take photos, find clues and learn how to collect fingerprints.
We care about climate and health!
The world of nature and the mysteries of plant movement will be introduced to us by the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw, while Wody Polskie will test our knowledge of water management and make themed tattoos. Together with Herbikids, we will learn about the superpowers of animals and see if humans can beat their records. Together with the "In Connection with Nature" Foundation, we will make artworks from gifts found in forests and meadows. The Warsaw Medical University will reveal the secrets of laboratory diagnostics and show us how to "draw with bacteria".
Space secrets and experiments
The Children's University will take us into the world of experiments and help answer questions such as: how to cross a bridge with dry feet and can a chicken see more than a human? The UW Physics Department will make a water rocket, inseparable books and a clock reaction with us. In the environmental and space education workshop we will observe the sun, make an air launcher and satellite rockets. Together with the Little Engineer, we will create our own models of constellations to light up your homes. In the 3D spherical cinema, we will discover the mystery of gravity, learn about cells and go on a journey behind the moon. The Aventuro team will reveal how magic tricks work, help you make eco desk utensils and plant edible plants. During experiments with mum Monica we will construct little flying machines and find out what dry ice is.
Sport, relaxation and something to eat
The Academy of Physical Education will analyse our body composition and test our abilities on a windsurfing simulator. Legia Futsal and OSiR Bemowo will prepare physical activities with a ball and more. Warsaw Metro with Krecik will tell you about the extension of the M2 and M3 lines and invite you to take part in competitions with prizes. The Museum Station will show a mobile mock-up of the Railway Institute's research station and models of railway vehicles. Together with the Bemowo Cultural Centre we will build mini gliders, and with the help of the Bemowo District Youth Council we will mint commemorative coins. Radio Kolor will tell us about the secrets of the work of radio engineers, and in the Bemowo Public Library we will exchange books. MPWiK will refresh all minds by serving delicious drinks based on Warsaw tap water with aromatic herbs and fruit. There will also be liquid nitrogen demonstrations with Nitro Ice Cream tasting and twisted animations for the little ones. Tasty treats from the food trucks in the food zone will certainly give you energy to party.
Admission is free! Join us - let's make it a day that sparks your scientific curiosity!
