PROGRAMME - 24 August
11.00 - botanical walk
How do you tell the difference between parsnips and common carrots? What does common chamomile smell like and what does rayless chamomile smell like? What can elderberries be used for? What can you make from rowan leaves? And above all: Is it safe to collect plants in the city? These and many other questions will be answered during a botanical walk. Let's go together to the city's meadows and squares. Let's look for wild-growing medicinal plants, edible plants, plants which can be used to dye textiles and plants for cosmetics.
12.30 p.m. - performance for children
"Sea Tales" performed by the Katarynka Theatre
It's a story that will transport young audiences aboard a ship, where they will embark on an adventurous voyage. The singing crew will tell them about many adventures at sea. There will also be a rescue operation on board with a WOPR lifeguard, and the children will learn what to do in case of danger during a holiday by the lake or sea. Meteorologist Krabs will explain to viewers how to recognise the weather by observing clouds. Is it easy to be a sailor? Can everyone sing shanties? These questions will be answered in a humorous musical performance, during which there will be no shortage of shared fun. All the audience will participate in a tug-of-war with the crew.
