WCK Marysin Branch invites you to a workshop on Japanese monochrome ink painting.
In Japanese, 'sui' means water, 'boku' or 'sumi' is black ink and 'ga' or 'e' is painting. The history of Suibokuga painting dates back to 100 B.C. (Han Dynasty in China), and since then it has been regarded as a major element of Far Eastern painting .During the meeting, participants will learn the technique of ink painting, and create paintings with the leitmotif of Wisteria (Glycyinia). Wisteria blooms in spring just after the cherry trees. It is a very hardy, elegant plant that grows by climbing over other trees and bushes. It symbolises longevity, numerous offspring and grandchildren, and immortality.
