The first Polish staging of the great West End and Broadway hit. The musical tells the story of the six wives of King Henry VIII of England. The creators of 'SIX' portrayed them as pop music divas, and the show takes the form of a concert - the ruler's partners sing their stories. It is a textbook example of turning 'history' into 'herstory', that is, giving voice to women. The musical inspiration for 'SIX' comes from hits by stars such as Beyoncé, Adele and Alicia Keys.
The musical originated as a performance by Cambridge University students and was presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. There, it caused a sensation and quickly made its way to the stages of London and New York. Its American version was awarded Tony statuettes - the musical Oscars - in the categories "Best Music" and "Best Costumes". "SIX" is, along with "Hamilton", one of the hottest titles in the world musical in recent years; songs from the show have tens of millions of listens each on Spotify and YouTube, among others.
