'Heart of Glass. A Zen Musical' based on Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Snow Queen' and Maria Peszek's 'Naku*wiam zen' is a musical performance in which Andersen's fairy-tale reality collides with the concreteness of the real-life biographies of two acclaimed artists, father and daughter - Jan Peszek and Maria Peszek. Am I even capable of love? - this question, asked a few months after Jan's heart attack, becomes a flashpoint for a musical anatomy of the heart, of loving and of love. 'Heart of Glass. A Zen Musical' is an incalculable, promiscuous and tender meditation on emptiness, the body, love, polish past and present, saints, farts, hopelessness and death with music by Andrzej Smolik and Maria Peszek. It is an expedition of the STUDIO and Słowacki Theatre ensembles and Jan and Maria Peszek through the frosty nights of the 'winter of the century', remote swamps, empty churches, ecstasies, life and creative crises, the darkness of the Robber's castle and the Teofil estate, and through other wicked places.
