Saxon / concert

Heavymetal legends Saxon will play in Poland again.

The formation will perform at Krakow's Studio on 20 February, followed by a show at Warsaw's Progresja on 23 February.

Saxon have been on the scene for 46 years, and if you also count the activities under their previous names, that's more than 50 years. The crew from the south of Yorkshire have been steadily traversing the paths of classic, uplifting and hit-filled British heavy metal. It's a traditional mainstream approach, where steady punchy riffs, big choruses and the majesty of the compositions are essential. The band's latest album is the appropriately titled Hell, Fire and Damnation.

Saxon is one of the most recognisable names in British heavy metal. And it's not just the long tenure, but the great numbers. Listen, for example, to their most recent album, Hell, Fire and Damnation. There's a razor-sharp sound, Biff Byford's vocal form is beyond reproach, and of course there's the powerfully upbeat choruses, the tasteful solos, the cutting riffs... They don't lose their fire at all.
