Photographic exhibition by Elżbieta Dziuk "Colours of the Indian scene"

This is a photographic story of dance - from classical forms to regional and ceremonial dances. The photographs show male and female artists in motion, in colourful costumes, make-up and masks; on stage and in the open air, including: in West Bengal, Kerala and the Himalayas.

During her travels in India, the photographer visited India's most famous stages, dance institutes and public festivals. She photographed the dancers, both behind the scenes - during the preparations and during the performances. The photographs not only feature popular dances in India, but also those genres that are less well known in Poland, such as gotipua from Orissa or war dance from Mizoram.

Elżbieta Dziuk-Renik - Polish photographer; author of exhibitions. She is interested in the performing arts of India. She is passionate about Asia, which she travels with a camera in her hand. She has visited large parts of India, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos, parts of Malaysia and Indonesia. In 2024, together with Krzysztof Renik, she received the special mention of the Benedykt Polak Award.
