A new outdoor performance inspired by Stanislaw Lem's Solaris. Teatr Akt only touches upon the novel, by no means narrates it, it creates its own variation based on the motifs, ideas and, above all, images floating around in the work. It extracts the spaces hidden between the words. He approaches the subject with a distance and a gentle wink.

The plot of the novel is conducted on two parallel levels: a romantic love story and a philosophical tale in the face of an encounter with the Unknown, the thinking Ocean. In both cases, of interpersonal and interspecies relationships, man shows a lack of ability to make real contact. The ever-present and imagination-stirring theme of space travel, encounters and attempts to make contact with aliens is combined here with reflections on the human condition, its fears and problems in relationships with others.

"We set off into space, prepared for anything (...). Out of modesty, we don't say it out loud, but we sometimes think to ourselves that we are great. Meanwhile, that's not all, and our preparedness turns out to be a pose. We do not want to conquer the cosmos, we only want to extend the Earth to its limits (...). We don't need other worlds. We need mirrors. We don't know what to do with other worlds. This one is enough, and we are already choking on it". Stanisław Lem, "Solaris".

The Akt Theatre brought many new staging ideas to the performance, collective movement theatre scenes with original use of simple props, dance and acrobatics on a Chinese pole, evocative video projections, music with a modern, spatial sound, performed live. Everything has been developed during several months of artists working together on the project.
