Opening of Małgorzata Batorska's exhibition - "Unburied"

"Unburied" is an artistic journey through the recesses of the subconscious, childhood memories and the search for one's own creative identity. At the centre of this exhibition is a hen - a simple but graceful animal, which in its visual form becomes a symbolic carrier of emotions, memories and reflections.

The motif of hens, emerging fragmentarily from the paintings and looking uncertainly at the viewer, is central to the author's work. It is no coincidence that the exhibition's title alludes to a kind of identity crisis that many people from smaller towns feel in relation to their own origins. However, the works are not only an expression of introspection, but also an affirmation - an identification with one's birthplace and pride in one's roots.

The exhibition combines various artistic techniques, from painting to printmaking, to create a multidimensional story about a journey into memory and belonging. Each work invites the viewer to enter a world of memories in which the hen ceases to be just a bird - it becomes a metaphor, a carrier of stories about origins, values and the search for oneself.

Małgorzata Batorska - a graduate of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, where she had the opportunity not only to polish her craft, but also to develop her own unique artistic language. For the past 11 years, she has been creating and exploring new areas of art, seeking inspiration in various techniques and forms of expression. Her artistic journey includes not only painting, but also printmaking, photography and an experimental approach to traditional techniques.
During her internship at the Centre of Polish Sculpture and the Poster Museum at Wilanów, she had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge of spatial and graphic art and gain a new perspective on applied art and its history. On her artistic path, she has won numerous awards and nominations. She was nominated for the Second Student Painting Triennial in Rzeszów and was honoured three times in the prestigious Władysław Strzemiński Competition in Łódź - an event of great importance for young artists in Poland.
I have participated in many group and solo exhibitions, both at home and abroad. Works could be seen in places such as Radom, Łódź, Rzeszów, Paris, Carmo, Chiado, as well as in Łęczyca, where her solo exhibition took place. For her, each of these exhibitions has been another step in the development of her work and dialogue with the public.
I am not afraid of challenges - both artistic and culinary. For me, art is a constant process of searching for new means of expression and discovering unknown areas of emotion, ideas and experience.
