Olan Monk (IRL)
Musicians, performers and writers originally from Conamara, Ireland. Together with Lugh O'Neill, they co-founded the CANVAS collective - a series of events and independent record label formed in 2018 with the aim of giving a collective voice to an increasingly dispersed arts community.
Their creative practice includes experimental and popular forms of songwriting, both solo and in collaborations with other musicians. He has collaborated with artists such as Actress, Ashley Paul, Elvin Brandhi, James K, Maria Somerville, Michael Speers, Moin, Princ€ss and Shampain, among others.
Olan Monk's releases to date include Love/Dead (2020) and Auto Life (2021) released by CANVAS, as well as Dubplate 08 (2022) released by AD 93. In 2024, his track Surf was released on The Road Less Travelled Vol. 2 compilation released by Scenic Route. In the same year, he also appeared as a guest on the track Guess It's Wrecked on the band's third album Moin You Never End, also released by AD 93.
They have performed at the Rewire festival in The Hague, Aiséirí in Leisureland (Galway), the National Concert Hall in Dublin, the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Belfast, London's Café OTO, Barbican Hall and the ICA, as well as at PAF Olomouc, EOS crossings in Frankfurt and many venues in Ireland, England and continental Europe.

If quarks and quanta could sing, they would be having anti-melodic chats in their stratified reality. Paszka streams the party from the other side of the mirror, turned inside out, where a crowd of textures buzzes in another galaxy of sound. With his music composed from the minutiae of the universe, through convexity and tangibility, he commands the ear to watch cyberbiology, computer fauna, zero-one plankton bathed in a rain of sparks after a power pole explosion. All this impasto painted with electricity defies musical habits and throws one into a vortex of humming-vibrating-vibrating-peaking-squeaking-tapping soap bubbles.
