I invite you on a walk through the backstreets of the Old Town district. During the walk, we will hear stories that are not necessarily known to everyone.
We meet on Saturday, 13 September 2025 at 7pm on the Bridge by the Sigismund's Column. The walk is scheduled to last approximately 1.5h.
We find out, among other things:
- Who sold the Sigismund column and for how much?
- About how Professor Zachwatowicz fooled Bierut?
- Where was the prison where the parties lasted until dawn?
- Who in the Old Town by the water feature got a slap on the wrist?
- Where can you stand on a pile of vintage dung and rubbish?
- Who set up the first commission of inquiry?
- Where is the narrowest townhouse in Europe located?
- How were syphilis patients treated?
- Where was Warsaw's first bridge located?
Which street is said to have been a basin of Warsaw erotic tourism?
- Where did Warsaw's first meteorologist live?
and many more...
There is no charge for taking part in the walk, however, if you feel that the guide deserves a tip (...)
The walk will be led by a Warsaw Notebook city guide.
