Montell Fish announces The Dream Deer Tour, which includes select shows in Australia and Europe this summer, with a few festival appearances in between. The tour will kick off on 9 May in Brisbane, where Montell will play four shows as headliner, before returning to the US for festival appearances at the Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City and Governor's Ball in New York. In August, the tour will continue with a series of festivals in Europe, followed by concerts in Warsaw, Vienna and Zurich.

The tour promotes the release of the track 'deserve/energy', Montell's new single under his alter ego dj gummy bear - a mysterious masked music project the artist created in 2023. Montell introduced dj gummy bear as his creative safety valve, allowing him to explore more abstract, electronic sounds, a departure from his solo work as Montell Fish. You can expect more tracks released under this pseudonym in the spring.

Montell first introduced dj gummy bear in the single '2 Seater' and several other tracks, and then linked the character of gummy bear directly to Montell through the EP Intercession Before Charlotte, released last year. The EP depicts gummy bear as a prophet within the mythology surrounding him and shows the internal dialogue between him and Montell about faith, fame, expectations and the relationships that accompany these themes, giving context to the release of Montell's second album, CHARLOTTE.

Montell Fish and dj gummy bear are two distinct characters, but they reflect the duality of Montell's world and the opposing forces that shaped the early years of his career. Both identities show different sides of his personality, but each exists within its own artistic vision. Montell Fish creates complex, monumental alternative pop, while dj gummy bear explores the more experimental, subtle sounds of ambient R&B.
