Mauricio Andres Silva is a pianist born in Warsaw to a Polish-Bolivian family with long musical traditions. He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the piano class of Professor Alicja Paleta-Bugaj. He began his piano studies at the Karol Szymanowski State Music School in Warsaw. It was then that he performed for the first time on the stage of the National Philharmonic and achieved several first competition successes. He then continued his studies under Professor Paweł Skrzypek at the Fryderyk Chopin Music School in Warsaw. At that time, he took part in the 6th All-Poland Piano Competition named after Professor Ludwik Stefański in Płock in December 2002, where the jury, chaired by Professor Piotr Paleczny, awarded him the 2nd prize. He has honed his skills at numerous interpretation courses in Poland and abroad, working, among others, with such eminent pedagogues as Prof. Lee Kum Sing of the Vancouver Academy of Music, Prof. Boris Berman of the Yale School of Music and Prof. Andrzej Ratusiński of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart.
His repertoire includes numerous solo works as well as works with orchestral accompaniment and chamber music spanning all eras and styles.
