The musical 'M. Faktor. The Birth of Beauty", directed by Agata Biziuk, tells the life of Maks Faktorowicz, the founder of the legendary cosmetics brand and creator of the term "make-up". It is the story of a man who, thanks to his skills and determination, created a cosmetic empire and worked with the biggest stars of the Golden Era of Hollywood.

Maksymilian was born into a Jewish family in Zduńska Wola. He started working as a child. He became an assistant in a drugstore. Later, he apprenticed with the most famous wigmaker in Lodz. Thanks to the skills he acquired, he was able to develop his career first in Berlin, then in Moscow, where he not only created the first cosmetics, but was also a make-up artist at the Tsar's Grand Opera House and a private make-up artist and cosmetologist for the Tsar's family. Growing anti-Semitic sentiment and court intrigues forced him to emigrate to the USA. A clerical blunder created a pseudonym that became known to the whole world.
