Some legends can arouse a sense of uncertainty as to whether a story wrapped around mysterious or even fantastic events really happened. The same is true of the story of a mermaid who once lived in the area of today's Powiśle. Apparently, it was two sisters who got separated on the waters of the Baltic Sea. One sailed to Copenhagen, and the other first to Gdańsk, and then here, to the area of today's Warsaw. The fate of the former was described by Hans Christian Andersen, while the fate of the latter was described by the legend researcher and varsavianist Artur Oppman.
It is the text by Artur Oppman that became a pretext for creating this extraordinary performance, which will take the youngest viewers to ancient times and invite them into the circle of mythical characters. Following the siren's song, we will discover the mysteries of places we know today and events that took place in the distant past. At a time when there was no city but only dense forests full of wild animals, a small fishing settlement and a half-woman half-figure from Greek mythology.
