The Centre for Monument Interpretation invites you to Agnieszka Kuś's lecture: Intangible Warsaw: Ukrainian Borscht and Other Borscht.
- Can borscht be green?
- What did the borscht served at the court of Sigismund III Vasa taste like?
- Which borscht did Jozef Pilsudski prefer?
- Why talk about Ukrainian borscht in the heart of Warsaw's Old Town, the Centre for Heritage Interpretation?
During the meeting, we will learn about the history of borscht and compare the oldest preserved recipes with contemporary ones. We will also talk about cuisine as intangible heritage and ways to preserve it. There will be recipes!
The meeting will be hosted by Agnieszka Kuś, historian, varsavianist and culinary educator. The lecture accompanies the exhibition 'On the spot and takeaway. Warsaw Cuisine'.
