Krzysztof Cugowski, legendary rocker, co-founder of Budka Suflera, fulfilled solo musician.
Last year, he began one of the most important periods in his stage journey. He began celebrating 55 years on stage. He also put into the hands of his listeners an authorial album and a biographical book. This year will be marked by jubilee concerts for the artist, which will also promote his latest album "Wiek to tylko liczba". Krzysztof Cugowski started his path in 1969 in Lublin, founding the band Budka Suflera with Janusz Pędzisz and Krzysztof Brozi. - We had heads full of dreams, we didn't plan a bright future, we just wanted to play," recalls Krzysztof Cugowski.
In time, a band grew out of his youthful dreams and became a force to be reckoned with on the rock scene. After the legendary group ended in 2014, the artist did not leave the stage for a while. He embarked on a new path, initially with his sons Piotr and Wojciech, forming the Cugowscy project. The joint family venture was sealed with two albums and a gold record. Since 2017, the artist has been conquering Polish stages accompanied by the extraordinary Band of Champions, composed of top-class instrumentalists. Jacek Królik plays the guitar, Cezary Konrad on drums, Robert Kubiszyn on bass and Tomasz Kałwak on keyboards. They have played hundreds of concerts together on Polish and foreign stages. - We understand each other without words. We are on the same musical wavelength and enjoy every concert together," says Krzysztof Cugowski. Last year, he embarked on his 55th anniversary tour with the Band of Champions. The concert calendar included several dozen performances constituting a peculiar journey through the decades with stops for great hits and hits that have been playing in Krzysztof Cugowski's soul for all these years. The collaboration with the Band of Champions was also sealed with a CD of premiere songs.
The album Age is Just a Number was released to listeners on 20 September. - We couldn't imagine it could be any other way. I am glad that the album was released just this year and opened our next chapter together," adds the artist. Five days later, the artist's biography Śpiewanie mnie nie męczy (Singing Me Doesn't Get Tired) saw the light of day. An interview with Krzysztof Cugowski was conducted by Marek Sierocki. The year 2025 will, of course, pass for the Artist musically.
He will be embarking on the second part of his anniversary tour in January. During which, together with the Band of Champions, he will promote his latest album. - Our concerts are a journey through the decades. We play songs that are important to me and my favourites from these 55 years on stage, as well as some from the latest album. So the audience can count on a lot of musical memories, but also novelties," adds K. Cugowski.
