Concert of music by Fryderyk Chopin. Performers include professors of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music and winners of national and international competitions. The programme of the concerts is varied and includes works to satisfy both seasoned music lovers and popular Chopin works known to all. The concerts are played on a piano with the so-called 'Verdi tuning' of 432 Hz, which was used in Chopin's times. This is the only place in Warsaw where you can listen to a recital of piano music on an instrument in this tuning.
The concerts take place in the Old Gallery of the Union of Polish Artists Photographers, in the left wing of the Royal Castle. It once housed the kitchen of the Castle, Baciarelli's flats and the first seat of the Academy of Fine Arts.
The intimate hall can accommodate around 60 people. The old gothic interiors are conducive to contemplative music. It is further enhanced by an exhibition of the best Polish photographers, which changes every month. The hall is praised in concert reviews posted on social media.
The concerts take place every day throughout the year and start at 6 p.m. Each concert lasts approximately one hour. During the interval of the concert, mead, cold-pressed apple juice or water is served. When the weather is good, guests can go out onto the garden terrace with a beautiful view of the Vistula. After the concert, listeners can purchase CDs of the artist performing on the day, receiving a dedication.
