The EuroJAZZ Foundation and the Bielański Cultural Centre would like to invite you to another concert from the series "Jazz at BOK. We play straight!"

Krzysztof Ścierański is not only an outstanding bassist and composer, but also - as he has proved on more than one occasion - a great guitarist. Throughout his 50 years of artistic activity, he became known as a member of the famous Polish bands: Anawa, Laboratorium, Air Condition, String Connection, and later as the leader of super groups founded from the 1980s: Ścierański Surzyn Trio, Ścierański Trio, Music Painters, The Colors, New Quartet, Ścierański Quartet.
He has been invited to collaborate with such artists as Marek Grechuta, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Wojciech Karolak, Krzesimir Dębski, Jarek Śmietana, Tomasz Stańko and Janusz Muniak. Of the world's top musicians, his participation in joint performances was appreciated by, among others: Pat Metheny, Esperanza Spalding, Bobby McFerrin and others.

Throughout his career, he has recorded albums, created soundtracks for films, plays and other projects. The broad spectrum of his activity is evidenced by the 163 albums he has recorded, including 12 of his own. Ścierański is also a creator of sonoristic sounds and techniques, a precursor of unique solo recitals for bass guitar and a virtuoso of improvised music.

In September 2024, awarded the medal of Merit in Culture - Gloria Artis and Honoris Gratia by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, conferred by the Mayor of the City of Krakow.
In November 2024 awarded the Pro Masovia medal by the Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodship.
