IX. Muranów Festival is close to our hearts

The 'Muranów lies at our heart' festival is an annual socio-cultural event in Warsaw's Muranów district, which attracts hundreds of residents to celebrate together. The first picnic - which is now called a festival - was held in 2013 at 22 Miła Street through the efforts of several neighbours who wanted to breathe more culture and activity into their backyard. Since then, the event has been attracting more and more Muranów residents, and the stage at Miła Street has already hosted Maria Sadowska, Marysia Czubaszek and Krzysztof Daukszewicz, among others.
DRAGON PARADE
The festival will be preceded by a Dragon Parade, which will set off at 12:00 from the intersection of Smocza and Nowolipki Streets. The colourful and bustling parade along Smocza Street will be headed by drummers and a large green dragon well-known to Warsaw residents from the Three Kings' March and last year's parade. The route will also feature a pyrophage, or fire swallower with spectacular burning breath, which will leave those present in awe. There will be drums for the 50 participants and the first 500 people will receive an occasional dragon flag The parade will end at the field at 19 Smocza Street, where the festival will begin.
CONCERT
The centrepiece of this year's event is a musical journey, which will be a concert performed by the unique Voice Band quartet. At 3:30 p.m., you will hear the only band in Poland which draws on the tradition of old male choirs - the Revellers. It was formed on the initiative of Arkadiusz Lipnicki and debuted at the Piwnica Artystyczna "Przechowalnia" in Łódź in 2007. In the project "In seventh heaven", which you will hear at Muranów, Voice Band refers to the inter-war masters of the genre. The artists sing live film, revue and cabaret songs in original arrangements, allowing them to show their beauty, the vocal artistry of the performers and restoring the lustre of male chamber vocal ensembles, extremely popular in the first half of the 20th century. The quartet is a two-time winner of the "Golden Leaf retro" at the Mieczysław Fogg festivals.
