The 2nd Bielański Passion Music Festival is a unique encounter with ancient and contemporary interpretations of Lenten songs. During this year's edition, we will hear traditional works from various regions of Poland, as well as musical arrangements of poetry by Jan Kochanowski or Mikołaj Sępa-Szarzyński. Outstanding artists will perform, taking us on a journey through the Passion tradition, from Kurpie songs to a recital inspired by the Book of Job.
PROGRAMME
30 March 2025 (Sunday)
12.00 pm
Venue of the concert: Las Bielański Parish Church 3 Dewajtis St.
Jesus nailed to the cross out of love.
Passion songs from the Green Forest.
The concert will feature singers from the parish of Czarnia near Myszyniec - Antonina and Aleksandra Deptułowe. In their singing they use musical scales earlier than the major-minor scale commonly used today. The song texts are works of the most outstanding Polish poets of the Baroque era, while the melodic variants are Kurpie endemics found only in the north-eastern Mazovia. The concert will be conducted by Adam Strug.

Lent is a time of reflection and spiritual preparation for Easter. The passion tradition, present in Polish culture for centuries, is expressed not only in prayer and reverie, but also in music - full of depth, humility and emotion.
We invite you to experience this special time together through music that moves the heart and prompts reflection. Admission to all concerts is free.
