We would like to invite you to the fourth edition of the Warszawa Hotel Art Fair. An event dedicated to contemporary art, it will take place on the first and second floors of the Hotel Warszawa - an icon of pre-war Warsaw architecture and a symbol of the city.
This is the first contemporary art fair in Poland with hotel spaces as a backdrop. The formula draws on the best traditions of boutique fairs such as the Gramercy International Art Fair in New York and the Felix Art Fair in Los Angeles.
Nearly 30 galleries will present the work of more than 100 artists. As in previous years, galleries from other Polish cities will appear alongside the Warsaw galleries, including Łęctwo from Poznań and ESTA from Gliwice, as well as Krupa Gallery, which - although it originates from Wrocław - recently opened a new space in London.
Polish galleries will also be joined by those from abroad, including: Coulisse Gallery (Stockholm), DRIFTS Gallery (Vilnius), Heliconia Projects (Miami/Dominican Republic) and Dürst Britt & Mayhew (The Hague).
At the previous fair, a special programme in which three Polish collectors presented fragments of their collections in their hotel rooms enjoyed great enthusiasm from the public. That is why this year we have invited three well-known, thriving private institutions of contemporary art: Stefan Gierowski Foundation, Common Art Foundation and Empower Art Foundation. Like the galleries, these institutions will be given hotel rooms where they will present works of art with an accompanying programme of events, including meetings with artists.
The standout event of the fourth edition of Hotel Warszawa Art Fair will be a meeting with American curator and art critic Alison Gingeras - who has curated exhibitions for some of the world's most important art institutions, including the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Tate Modern in London and Centre Pompidou in Paris. On Saturday, 6 September, she will give an art talk 'The Woman Question', an introduction to an exhibition in preparation for the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. The programme also includes guided tours with respected cultural figures, including Karolina Plinta, Anka Sańczuk, Jarosław Trybus, Zuzanna Krzątała and Alek Hudzik.
HWAF 2025 is the result of a collaboration between gallerists: Gunia Nowik of Galeria Gunia Nowik, Marta Kołakowska of LETO, Justyna Wesołowska and Marika Zamojska of the Polana Institute and the Likus Hotel and Restaurant Group. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Warsaw.
