HISTORIA ŁĄCZY POKOLENIA is a series of meetings with old films, songs, motoring, Warsaw and design led by Mateusz Pasternak. We will present sometimes completely unknown stories about popular Polish hits. The meetings take the form of an interactive lecture; each meeting is accompanied by artefacts from the era.
We invite you on an extraordinary journey in time, which will take us back to the era of the People's Republic of Poland and discover the timeless beauty and application of Polish applied arts. As part of the "History connects generations" series, we will take a look at furniture, everyday objects and design icons which, despite the passage of time, still delight us with their form, functionality and ingenuity.
During the lecture, Mateusz Pasternak, an expert in the history of design, will talk about how, in the harsh realities of the People's Republic of Poland, things were created that not only fulfilled practical functions but were also true works of art. Thanks to a multimedia presentation, we will see iconic designs such as Józef Chierowski's "366" armchairs or ceramic wonders from Bolesławiec. We will also learn the stories of the makers and craftsmen who were able to bring beauty into everyday life with their creativity.
This event is not only an occasion to reminisce, but also an inspiration for contemporary designers and design enthusiasts. We invite everyone who wants to find out how Polish applied art from the PRL era unites generations and still finds a place in modern interiors.
