Dancing has accompanied the daily life of the Greeks for centuries. It is an integral part of family celebrations and festivals. It is danced in taverns and nightclubs, simply everywhere. Some dances are only found locally, others are known to most Greeks. Joining in the fun is always welcome.

We would like to invite you to Greek dance workshops led by Irena Argiro Tsermegas, Bożena Głodkowska and Tomasz Kozłowski, who form the ILIOS Greek dance group, which was established as part of the Friends of Greece Association. They have been gaining experience for many years under the tutelage of, among others, the dancers of the famous Athens-based dance theatre "DORA STRATOU". They also deepen their knowledge and skills every year by participating in games and festivals in different regions of Greece. Dancing is their passion and a way of relieving everyday stress.

The company's members have been running dance workshops for over 20 years, mainly as part of the 'Tu się tańczy' Dance Academy, and have also cooperated with many Warsaw cultural centres (including the Mazovia Centre for Culture and Arts, the Ochota Culture Centre OKO, the Bemowo Culture Centre).

During the workshop, it will be possible to learn mainly processional dances from different regions of mainland Greece and the islands, as well as dances classified as urban folklore. The repertoire is rich, so there is sure to be something for everyone.
