The immortal Giselle, a ballet masterpiece by the foremost creators of French Romanticism, returns to our repertoire. It was conceived by the poet Théophile Gautier, inspired by a legend written down by Heinrich Heine, the libretto was written by the playwright Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges, the music was composed by Adolphe-Charles Adam, and the creators of the exemplary choreography were the ballet master Jean Coralli and the dancer Jules Perrot who supported him. Together they created a work widely regarded as the quintessential work of balletic romanticism.
