Ghost Funk Orchestra is the work of composer and multi-instrumentalist Seth Applebaum. What began as a solo recording project has evolved over time into a powerful live band. It is a sonic kaleidoscope that eschews genre classifications, but draws strong influences from the worlds of soul, psychedelic rock, salsa and more. Their unique blend of genres has garnered praise from media outlets such as NPR, Bandcamp, KUTX, Brooklyn Vegan, Earmilk and more. Local New York blog Post-Trash described their sound as "a psychedelic odyssey of traditional sounds in an unconventional way". Bandcamp editor-in-chief J.
