Neighbourhood swap
Join us for a neighbourhood swap in the spirit of zero waste. An opportunity to exchange unwanted clothes, books, toys, games, jewellery and plants and meet your neighbours. This is an important step towards non-waste, a zero waste spirit event where you will be able to exchange unwanted clothes, books, toys, games, jewellery and plants and get to know your neighbours.
Air out your wardrobes, chests of drawers - choose items that you don't use but that are in good condition (clean, complete, undamaged). Due to limited space, each participant can bring up to 20 items. On the day of the event, leave the items you have brought on specially prepared tables and check what other participants have brought. The opportunity to find something for yourself and you will enjoy second-hand treasures.
Please note: The organiser is not responsible for the condition of donated and exchanged items. Participation in the event is tantamount to acceptance of the Rules and Regulations of the Neighbourhood Swap.
Culinary meeting
Did you know that every second 150 kilograms of food end up in garbage bins in Poland? Wasting food is devastating to the health of the planet and to our wallets. That is why all EU countries are obliged to reduce culinary waste by at least half.
We will talk about what a recovery plan looks like and what the zero waste challenge looks like 'from behind the scenes' during creative meetings. It will whet the appetite for not wasting and using products without leftovers.
Sylwia Majcher will lead a workshop entitled 'Leftovers for the table', during which she will show how to creatively use leftover food and turn it into tasty, unobvious dishes. The inspiration will come from the most frequently wasted products - according to the list of the Federation of Polish Food Banks and the PROM project. It is a practical lesson in not wasting, full of simple tricks and culinary surprises.
Leader: Sylwia Majcher - environmental educator, journalist and author of several books, including the bestseller "Gotuję, nie marnuję. Cuisine zero waste po polsku".
The events will take place as part of the Myślę, nie marnuję (I think, I don't waste) campaign and the Go to Things project, implemented in partnership with the Świt Cultural Centre. All events will include a map of good practices - places where people can buy second-hand things, repair or donate items.
The event is part of the Neighbourhood Day celebrations.
