The Żywioły concert is the closing event of the first edition of the FolkOFF/ON festival, during which Warsaw dance ensembles will perform together with the "Po Pieronie" Kapela. They will present choreographies prepared especially for FolkOFF/ON, to pieces from the "Żywioły" album, inspired mainly by the music of the Żywiec Beskids.

The idea behind the concert is an offbeat, alternative approach to tradition, folklore, music and folk dance, which we let pass through the prism of contemporary sensibility. The string quartet "Po Pieronie", which has been in existence for 15 years, will perform together with the vocal ensemble "Poliana", and choreographies based on the dances of the Carpathian highlanders will be presented jointly by the hosts of the festival - Woda na Młyn - and the invited guests - New Folk, Slavovica, Polk Dot, Kuźnia Artystyczna. It promises to be a thrilling, highly energetic fusion of tradition and modernity in a virtuoso musical setting.

The "PoPieronie" String Quartet was established in 2009 in the Żywiec region. It is made up of four talented and experienced musicians who, through their backgrounds and shared artistic experiences, have built up a lasting friendship and musical collaboration. Their repertoire includes traditional highlander songs as well as their own compositions, and their work is influenced by music from the borderland of Polish, Slovak and Hungarian cultures. The quartet's performance artistry appeals to both classical music lovers and fans of improvised music and jazz. The PoPieronie collective are not only educated musicians, but also dedicated promoters of highland culture, which can be seen in their energetic and authentic performances.
