On the first floor of the Wilanów palace, one can now see excellent works from the collection started by Stanisław Kostka and Aleksandra Potocki. Among others, there is the 'Salvator Mundi' ('Saviour of the World') - once considered to be a work by Leonardo da Vinci himself.
The exhibition follows the collecting fascinations of Stanisław Kostka Potocki. During his numerous travels around Europe, Potocki visited the most important art galleries and was inspired by their collections. When we read his travel diaries, we learn that he was already planning the shape of his gallery at the stage of purchasing works from various historical eras.
The Potocki's Wilanow Collection is an expression of a conscientiously constructed concept of collecting. The creators presented it in an appropriate setting - the historic royal residence. In their project, they involved not only material resources, but above all the capital of intellect, knowledge and emotions.
