We invite you to an exhibition of photographs by Teresa Polowczyk and paintings by Zbigniew Szczepkowski - students of the UTA Wesoła
Teresa Polowczyk has been a member of the Third Age University in Wesoła for 15 years. At the University, she met wonderful people who are curious about the world and full of passion and joy of life. By presenting her photos at the exhibition, she wants to prove that age is just a number and that you can develop your passions such as painting, photography, dancing, learning languages, etc. at any age.
I am an amateur photographer. In the beginning it was family and travel photos, taken with a compact camera. During the lockdown, when we were locked out of the house, she enrolled in an online photography course run by a photographer living in the USA, Mrs Malgorzata Tyminska, who showed her how to take better photos and made her fall in love with photography. She started by taking photos in the garden and in our beautiful forest. It was photography and contact with nature that helped her through the difficult times and restrictions of the pandemic. Thanks to it, she discovered that there is a lot of beauty around her to capture and admire on grey days. Teresa Polowczyk looks for light in photography - light turns the ordinary into magic.
She is currently continuing to learn photography and is taking part in workshops led by a wonderful photographer and person, Ms Iwona Bal at ODT 'Zielona' in Wesoła.
Zbigniew Szczepkowski has been a member of the Wesola University of the Third Age since the second half of 2024.
He has always had an artistic flair, but has only taken up art in recent years. Initially these were images of flowers on paper, but now his work is dominated by landscapes painted with acrylic paints on canvas.
He draws inspiration mainly from the Internet. He looks for images and views that delight him, that have something in them, and creates his own works based on these. Painting gives him a sense of self-fulfilment and self-realisation, and he picks up a paintbrush at times when he simply feels the need to paint.
Opening on 29.03.25 at 4 p.m.
The exhibition will be open from 29.03.25 to 25.04.25.
