We invite you to Galeria Ł for an exhibition of photographs: Analog Urban Herbs
The exhibition consists of 22 photographs taken with an analogue camera.
It is dedicated to wild plants growing in urban spaces - whether in parks and gardens or along streets, lawns, squares, estate nooks or wastelands.
The project presented here is an attempt to capture the subtle presence of urban flora and its importance to the local ecosystem. The author directs the viewer's attention to the everyday and often unnoticed - the natural forms of life that persist in the city alongside human activity.
Katarzyna Piórkowska grew up near a forest, which shaped her close contact with nature and the need to document its presence, also in the urban environment. She has been taking analogue photographs for over a decade, using the process as a tool for careful observation and building relationships with the surrounding world. She also creates digital portraits and short video forms. She has lived in Warsaw's Mokotów district for several years and actively participates in local initiatives, creating spaces for meetings and conversations about plants, ecology and urban community.
