On 21-22 August 2025, the Show - Communicate 2025 Conference will be held at the conference centre of the Copernicus Science Centre. The motto of this year's edition is: "Freedom, knowledge, community - digital technologies in education". The event...

The event will bring together teachers, educators, pedagogues, researchers, designers of educational spaces, representatives of local governments and educational institutions, as well as young people themselves. We will meet to discuss the most important challenges of contemporary education, those that arise at the intersection of technology, democracy and everyday school life.

According to data from a study carried out by the Copernicus Science Centre in 2023, 96% pupils aged 13-19 use smartphones every day, almost half of them also have tablets. A report by the Digital Citizenship Foundation shows that among children between 7 and 14 years old, 85% use the Internet. They spend an average of more than four hours a day there, most frequently using streaming, social networking and instant messaging services.

Do digital tools serve us as communities? How do we shape a relationship with technology that enhances education without undermining autonomy and relationships? What digital competences do teachers and students really need today?
Generative artificial intelligence, content personalisation algorithms, education through social media and streaming - all of these are turning our ideas about knowledge, school, creativity and truth upside down. And yet most of us are only just learning to ask smart questions in the face of these changes.

Unlike many edtech events, Show - Communicate is a space for reflection, discussion and solution design, not just for testing new applications. We talk about the why, not just the how. We are looking for a smart, critical yet hopeful approach to the role of technology in education.

We will show, among other things, how to use ORBIUM, the latest educational kit developed as part of the collaboration between the Copernicus Science Centre and Samsung, and how to consciously work with open knowledge resources and tools - from Wikimedia Commons to Fediverse.
