The band Moskwa was formed in 1983 by vocalist and guitarist Paweł Gumola. They are a legend of the punk-rock scene and have been touring the Polish music scene for over 30 years.
The band debuted at the Jarocin festival in 1984 with the line-up of Paweł "Guma" Gumola (vocals, guitar), Piotr Rogoziński (bass guitar), Tomasz Gron (drums) and got to the eight laureates, which translated into nationwide success. Shortly after the festival, Moscow recorded their first studio tracks, which achieved radio popularity on the independent music stations of the time.
In 1985, the band performs as the star of the Jarocin festival and takes part in the film "Fala", directed by Piotr Łazarkiewicz, which shows Jarocin, the music, the bands and the life of the festival. The following year, a BBC television crew shoots a film about Polish rock music, 'My Blood Your Blood', directed by Andrzej Kostenko, in which the singer of Moscow and his personal life story becomes the light motivator. "My Blood Your Blood" was screened in 50 countries, while "Wave" lived to see its premiere in cinemas in Poland. Moskwa also took part in the films 'Harley's Tales' (1988), directed by Wiesław Helak, and 'More Blues' (1988), directed by Krzysztof Magowski. The band's first album is released in 1989 under the name "Moscow" and disappears from shop shelves within a week. The next album, 'Extraordinary Life', is released in 1990. Moscow then travels to Germany for concerts. In 2010, a live album recorded in Toruń is released. In 2019, the album 'XXI wiek' is released by Zima Records.
