The concert draws on the traditions of Podlasie - the region from which Karolina Cicha hails. It is a concert in the languages spoken by the minorities living in this part of Poland. The concert will include songs in Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Belarusian, Yiddish, Polish and Tatar. The concert draws on the scales of traditional music, but is not an archival compilation, but a coherent whole speaking a modern musical language.
The band Cicha &Spółka came to prominence in 2013 by winning the Grand Prix and the Audience Award of the festival.
Polish Radio "Nowa Tradycja". The musicians who make up the Company are virtuosos playing a variety of ethnic instruments. The band's arrangements oscillate between tradition and modernity. The current direction of the band's explorations is ethnic groove, rhythm, energy and melodiousness, which preserves the truth of emotions and metaphysics.
Karolina Cicha - is a singer, composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist fascinated by the traditional minority music of north-eastern Poland. Her albums 'TANY' and 'SAD' were nominated for a Fryderyk in the Roots Music category. In 2015, Cicha was in the Official Selection at WOMEX - the largest World Music festival in the world. Cicha with her music has visited dozens of festivals in Europe, Asia and America. including: Jodphur Riff (India), Fordefestival. And also in Poland (e.g. Open Air, Ethnoport, Cross-Culture).
