Calibre 44.
A true legend of Polish hip-hop. Forerunners of Polish psych-rap. Extremely expressive and original. They always go against the grain, break schemes and avoid all conventions. They are not afraid of experiments, they tirelessly reach for new solutions. They intrigue with brilliant lyrics and are not afraid to touch on controversial topics. Their music changes with them. It can be dark and light, but it is always authentic and full of emotion.
At the end of 2000, former formation member Piotr "Magik I" Łuszcz committed suicide. Shortly afterwards, Michal "Joka" Marten emigrated to the United States. Marcin "Abradab" Marten maintained the band's touring activities until 2003, when he took up solo artistic activities.
For years, fans lived in hope that Kaliber 44 would resume their music career. Their dreams came true in 2013. The band's first show was at the Open'er Festival in Gdynia, where they performed with instrumentalists.
On 13 February 2016, the group's first CD in nearly 16 years entitled 'Fraction of Friction' appeared. The first after 16 years, as that was when their previous disc '3:44' premiered.
The album features guest appearances from Rahim, Gutek and Grubson. In 2016, the band tours to promote the latest album, scoring performances at major festivals such as Hip-Hop Kemp, Orange Warsaw Festival, Solidarity Of Arts and Off Festival. The album achieves platinum status.
