There will be no random ukuleles, no ping-pong balls in cheeks, no 'random disguises', no blatant cheating, no changing poems and performing twice in one round, no late poets jumping on stage at the last minute, and no babies as props. x) Yes... you had to be there to understand it... Rest assured, the slam will still be great fun!

The aim of the Warsaw elimination slams is to select the capital's representation for the Polish slam championships and for the last-chance eliminations. Who can take part in the preliminaries In the Warsaw preliminaries for the 9th
The National Poetry Slam Championship is open to anyone of legal age who registers for a qualifying slam early enough to be included on the list of those taking part in the tournament. First-come, first-served registration is carried out by the organisers or slam hosts, who also set the slam entry quota according to the tradition of the venue. Registration begins as soon as the elimination slam is announced as a Facebook event and is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis (provided the application is sent by an adult).
Also, the rules for elimination slams should be site-specific and set out in the tournament rules provided in the event description. The title of the event should state that it is an elimination slam. The rules of the Warsaw preliminaries are available on the website and Facebook profile of the Slam Foundation.

What is a slam?
The poetry slam is a competition at the crossroads of art and sport. It combines the power of the poetic message, performance on stage and the excitement of competition. Participants in the tournament are asked to present an original poetic text within a set time (usually three minutes). The audience is the only jury which simultaneously judges the quality of the poetry and the performance. The person who gets the most votes from the audience wins. Relying on the judgement of the audience means that anything can happen during the slam. An established poet can be beaten by a debutant, a great performer by someone who is shy enough to say a text that grabs the audience by the heart. A slam is a tournament of live words and heated emotions, that is, poetry that works on hearts and minds. It is no wonder that slam, which arrived on the Vistula and Oder rivers from the USA via the UK in 2003, is becoming increasingly popular in our country, where it has established itself for good.
The national championship in this artistic discipline will be held for the ninth time in 2025. Organisational information The coordinator of the Warsaw qualifiers for the Polish slam championships is the Slam Foundation. The organiser of the championships is the KulturAkcja Foundation.
