An original and contemporary interpretation of Słowacki's drama, as a musical detective story set in 1990s Warsaw, where disco polo mixes with techno, capitalism flourishes and with it a criminal underworld, led by her, the queen of life and crime - Balladyna. Will the young woman manage to stay in power in a man's world full of intrigue, struggle for position and wealth? What are the costs of a fast career in Warsaw - the capital of the wild transformation? Will she manage to unravel the criminal mysteries of the capital of the 1990s, which return in contemporary Warsaw when the body of a well-known influencer is found in one of the markets at 37/39 Puławska Street, the former seat of Adam Hanuszkiewicz's theatre?
True crime' is a timeless tale of lust for power, fame, likes and money, for which the protagonists will pay the ultimate price. What do the temptations lurking online for today's youth have in common with the wild capitalism of the 1990s, symbolised by the Europa Fair? What is the value of success gained by shortcuts? Or do cruelty and unscrupulousness pay off in a free and still wild market?
The author of the adaptation, director and Lalka Theatre's electric director Joanna Zdrada, together with the co-author of the adaptation, varsavianist and writer Maciej Łubieński and the author of the electronic music Iwona Skwarek, invite you to the Rampa for a musical investigation, full of crazy twists, crime and love.
