The Ballady na dwa serca [Ballads for two hearts] concert is a meeting with the charming couple that undoubtedly make up Dominika Żukowska and Andrzej Korycki. They most often perform the moving lyrics of Buat Okudzhava, but they are equally well known for their performances of shanties and romantic ballads of native poets. The unquestionable strengths of this charming duo are their uncommon, well-chosen voices, wonderful lyrics and a wealth of rhythms and moods conveyed joyfully to the accompaniment of guitars. Andrzej Korycki, the spiritus movens of the duo, continues to win the hearts of successive generations of his fans with his infectious optimism and uncomplicated joie de vivre, while the ethereal Dominika Żukowska takes the somewhat austere style of her stage partner to a higher level of spirituality.
The musicians successfully abolish the classical division between artist and audience, gaining a rapport with the audience and inviting them to sing along to these well-known and much-loved songs. Their concert is a real musical feast, but also an extraordinary meeting of people who speak beautifully about life at sea (and beyond) with those who listen to these stories like magic, sometimes laughing and sometimes wiping away tears of emotion. We know one thing. Whoever hears Andrew and Dominika once, will always carry their music in his heart.
