What influence do hormones and neurotransmitters have on our reactions, behaviour and mood? Why do some people seek borderline sensations? Why are people drawn to extreme sports? Is it just foolish risk-taking or is it a manifestation of a desire, unique in the natural world and typical of the human species, to push their own limits?
