Stars, premieres and exceptional projects - on 5 July, the 31st edition of the popular festival begins in the heart of Warsaw . It will last until 30 August.
For years, the festival has been the capital's artistic and tourist showcase, attracting jazz fans from Warsaw, Poland, and abroad. The Old Town Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the heart of the capital has been beating for centuries, and thanks to the festival, it beats to the rhythm of jazz all summer long.
It promises to be a very interesting and stylistically diverse programme. There will be premieres and exceptional projects. The top Polish jazz stars and foreign stars will perform.

5 July - A Story of Polish Jazz
A special project which presents an abridged and subjective history of Polish jazz. We will hear the top of Polish jazz (13 artists, including Alicja Śmietana, Mateusz Smoczyński, Piotr Baron, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Robert Majewski, Michał Tokaj ) who will perform their own compositions, as well as pieces by the creator of the historic project , the legendary guitarist J. Śmietana , and the icon of Polish jazz, J. Ptaszyn Wróblewski . A rare pleiad of Polish jazz stars on one stage!
12 July - Peter Bernstein Quartet
A giant of the world guitar scene associated with New York. A disciple of legendary guitarist Jim Hall, he is an acclaimed musician in Downbeat Magazine's reader and critic polls . The guitar virtuoso draws on musical tradition and modernity. Known for his collaborations with the bands of Nicholas Payton, Dr. Lonnie Smith , and especially for the success of his organ trio with Larry Goldings and Bill Stewart, described by The New York Times as "the greatest organ trio of the decade". The leader will be accompanied by sought-after New York musicians - pianist Danny Grissett , double bassist Doug Weiss and drummer Bill Stewart .
19 July - Christian McBride - Remembering Ray Brown with Benny Green & Greg Hutchinson
Polish premiere. After 10 years, the jazz luminary, American double bass virtuoso, composer, eight-time GRAMMY winner returns to our stage . The most sought-after and respected artist on the contemporary jazz scene pays tribute to his mentor, the double bass legend One of his most famous disciples will play with the much sought-after New York musicians , who were members of the Ray Brown Trio for many years. This will not only be a remembrance of a brilliant artist, but also and above all timeless Great Jazz. For the first time, at the only concert in Poland, we will hear this unique project - a concert!
26 July - Myrczek & Schmidt Quintet ft. Herdzin - Młynarski. Bynmniej
A new, unusual project to the lyrics of W. Młynarski, "Polish Frank Sinatra", by Wojciech Myrczek - the best Polish jazz vocalist, in an all-star cast and in a masterly performance. The author of most of the original arrangements is the eminent pianist, composer, arranger, Krzysztof Herdzin , and he is accompanied by, among others, top trumpeter , band leader, Piotr Schmidt . The superb quintet masterfully interprets the classics of the master of the word, and the jazz arrangements open new doors to the author's magnificent legacy.
2 August - Francesca Tandoi Trio
The Italian jazz pianist and vocalist has been hailed by critics and the industry as a rising jazz star, and one of the stunning young talents on the international scene. In just a few years she has established herself as a world-class pianist and vocalist. She has performed with some of the best jazz musicians ( Scott Hamilton, Michael Leagune, Snarky Puppy). "A masterful pianist, elegant vocalist, and dynamic bandleader, . combines technical genius with soulful expression, " where swing meets lyricism".
9 August - Piotr Wojtasik Quintet - Inscape premiere
Trumpet virtuoso, outstanding improviser and composer, winner of many awards (including the Fryderyk Awards), he has been speaking a unique musical language for more than 30 years. He is regularly invited to participate in international projects. He has 12 original albums to his credit, and a high standing among critics and music lovers. The outstanding musician will present his premiere project Inscape. The repertoire includes works relating to post-Coltrane modal jazz, the davis aesthetics or contemporary broken rhythms.
16 August - New Bone Quintet - Premiere of Sorrow
An acclaimed jazz quintet founded and led by trumpeter Tomasz Kudyk. The maturity of the style , of the compositions, shows the great potential of all the members of the band including, among others, the outstanding pianist, Dominik Wani. The music on the new album is maintained in the diverse stylistics of contemporary jazz, containing lyrical fragments interwoven with dynamic motifs using the full colour of the band's sound. We will hear the premiere album " moving , full of melancholy, space and beauty. The Polish school of jazz at its best".
23 August - Nduduzo Makhathini Trio
A visionary pianist and composer, he has become one of the most important personalities on the South African music scene. He consistently pursues his own artistic vision, combining John Coltrane-like jazz with African folklore. Makhathini's high standard of pianism is far from commercial. Unusually original, he combines African musical heritage with jazz experiments, preserving the unique sound of the South African scene, and his mission is to preserve the rich heritage of his homeland while creating sounds that appeal to the 21st century world.
30 August - EABS The Very Best
The sensational quintet from Wrocław is the Polish leader of the new wave of jazz, in which tradition is the starting point for creating new, surprising solutions for the 21st century. Electro-Acoustic Beat Sessions creates music from the borderline of such genres as jazz, hip-hop, funk, soul and modern jazz. The band regularly wins Jazz Forum polls in the category "best electric band". We will hear retrospective, selected material from their original discography , including "Reflections of Purple Sun", which is a fascinating tribute to the music of the icon of Polish jazz, Tomasz Stańko.
