The 26th Polish Radio New Tradition Folk Festival 2025 will take place on 15-18 May at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio. The concerts will be broadcast on Polish Radio, Fb Nowa Tradycja, polskieradio.pl and the YouTube channel of the Radio Folk Culture Centre.

This year's edition of the Polish Radio Folk Festival "New Tradition" - a review presenting folk music - will take place between 15-18 May. It will also include the Folk Music Competition, which is the main part of the Festival. Recruitment for this competition has just begun.
The festival has been organised since 1998 for folk artists and musicians. Its basic premise is to activate music circles inspired by folk, folk and traditional music as well as national minorities, and to create a platform for artistic exchange and dissemination of the work of Polish artists abroad. Participants compete for the Grand Prix, podium places and additional prizes: the audience award "Burza Braw"; the Czesław Niemen Special Award and special radio awards - Jedynka, Dwójka and Czwórka. - The festival is a meeting of artists practising roots music. It is a kind of festival which gives an opportunity to get to know each other," informs Piotr Kędziorek, editor-in-chief of the Radio Folk Culture Centre and organiser of the festival. - The first festival lasted two days and there was only one star. Nowadays, more performers of world music are coming. The competition itself has also changed a lot. We are seeing the professionalisation of the scene. At the "New Tradition" we can hear everything from a cappella singing to electronic experiments, club music, hip-hop or heavy sounds," adds Kędziorek.
