"And what will you return to them for what they have given to you?"

Inspired by the quote "remember that they gave birth to you, and what will you repay them for what they have given you?", we ask about intergenerational obligations and what place the family has in contemporary society. In our WHOLE PROGRAMME you will find an attempt to answer these questions, in every performance, film and concert.

Wśród kompozytorów tworzących utwory na skrzypce solo trzech zajmuje miejsce szczególne: Jan Sebastian Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann oraz, tworzący z nich najwcześniej, Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber, któremu przypisuje się także autorstwo pierwszego w historii utworu skomponowanego na skrzypce bez akompaniamentu. To właśnie utwory tych trzech wielkich twórców tworzą program koncertu.
Z całą pewnością „Sonaty misteryjne” Bibera wraz z wieńczącą je „Passacaglią”, cykl „12 Fantazji na skrzypce solo” Telemanna czy wreszcie Bachowski zbiór „Sonaty i partity (Sei solo a violino senza basso accompagnato)” w sposób niepodważalny przyczyniły się do rozwoju zarówno techniki skrzypcowej, jak i ekspresji w grze na solowym instrumencie. W tym aspekcie równać się one mogą z włoskimi sonatami Arcangela Corellego czy francuskimi Jeana-Marie Leclaira.
Wszystkie kompozycje umieszczone w programie koncertu wykazują się różnorodnością, jeśli chodzi o walory brzmieniowe oraz ukazują bardzo szerokie możliwości techniki wiolinistycznej. To także sztandarowe pozycje w literaturze muzycznej będące doskonałym odzwierciedleniem stylu niemieckiego bogatego w środki retoryczne pozwalające na głębokie przeżycie utworów. / Małgorzata Malke

The Warsaw interdisciplinary festival, organised by the John Paul II Thought Centre and co-created by Piotr Duda and Marek Pasieczny, has existed since 2008 and is organised during the Lenten season.

Each edition of the Festival (there was none in 2011 and 2015) has its own theme, which inspires the artists invited to collaborate, and at the same time is the common denominator of the festival events.

During the 16th edition of the New Epiphanies Festival, traditionally held during Lent under the motto "What will you pay them back for what they have given you?", we will reflect on what intergenerational obligations mean for us - both "childless Lambadians" and holders of the Large Family Card - and on the place of the family in contemporary society.
