The Warsaw Bards' Stage announces a competition as part of the 19th Jonasz Kofta National Festival 'Moja Wolności', which will take place on 7 and 8 June 2025 on the guest stage of the Praga-Południe District Cultural Promotion Centre.
The aim of the Festival is to preserve the memory of the work of the eminent songwriter and cabaret poet Jonasz Kofta, through the presentation by the participants of the Competition of works by him and songs written in his poetics.
We invite singers, authors and composers to participate in the Competition, hoping that the Festival will be, as it is every year, a meeting place for talented creators and performers of artistic, ambitious song in the spirit of freedom.
May the complicated times in which we live prompt us to ask questions and seek answers. For, as Jonasz Kofta sang in his song 'Ptaki - pytaki' (Birds - questioners): those who do not ask questions do not grow wings.
