EXPERIENCE:
= AUKSO Chamber Orchestra: One of the best chamber orchestras in Europe, the undisputed leader of ensembles of its kind in Poland. A showcase of Poland in the world for over 20 years. From the beginning AUKSO was intended to be an area for artistic exploration and creative development, for the joint creation of art of the highest quality. Of particular interest to AUKSO is the borderland area - combining classical music with jazz, alternative music and rock, and seeking a common denominator for these genres. In this area AUKSO has collaborated with such personalities as Leszek Możdżer, Tomasz Stańko, Urszula Dudziak, Michał Urbaniak and the Motion Trio. AUKSO's collaboration with Aphex Twin and Jonny Greenwood as part of the European Culture Congress was widely acclaimed. These projects were honoured with the 'Coryphaeus of Polish Music' award in the 'Event of the Year' category. This collaboration resulted in the acclaimed album 'Krzysztof Penderecki / Jonny Greenwood', released a year later by the American cult label Nonesuch.
AUKSO is the winner of the Phonographic Academy Award "Fryderyk" in the category "Most Outstanding Recording of Polish Music" for the album "CHOPIN. National Edition".
The orchestra originates from the City of Tychy, where it has its place and permanent patronage.
= Maestro Marek Moś: Outstanding Polish conductor, as well as violinist and chamber musician. He has performed at prestigious festivals and on the world's most prominent stages, including the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Concertgebouw and IJsbreker in Amsterdam, Vredenburg in Utrecht, Schauspielhaus in Berlin, Tivoli in Copenhagen, Tonhalle in Dusseldorf, deSingel in Antwerp, Merkin Hall in New York and Jordan Hall in Boston. He has led orchestras both nationally and internationally (including the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra, Ensemble Modern). With his broad musical horizons and openness to new experiences, he has led one of the best chamber orchestras in Europe for over 20 years. With AUKSO, he performs contemporary, film, jazz and popular music; he has a particular fondness for works balancing on the border of genres.
The arranger of the songs is Piotr Steczek: Composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist. Author of numerous musical projects, including Chopin Odyssey.
Special guests at the concert:
= Stanisław Soyka. An icon of the Polish music scene. A musician with broad genre horizons. Still different and new, yet recognisable from the first notes.
= John Porter. Welsh musician, composer and lyricist. One of the most prominent rock musicians working today.
