What makes a room more than just a space? Is it the walls, the furniture, the objects stored in it? Or perhaps the memories that are associated with them, and the thoughts and emotions that build up over the years?

The idea for this exhibition was born when a friend of mine visited me one day after a gallery evening during the Night of Museums in Warsaw. She then told me that my room was actually the most interesting gallery she had seen that evening.
A sentence that ignited a vision in me.
I can't invite guests to stay with me because it's a private townhouse, but a room can travel from place to place - as the saying goes:
"If Muhammad cannot go to the mountain - the mountain will come to Muhammad."

The exhibition is a reconstruction of my room - the space where I live, create and dream.
It is only 18 m in length and simultaneously serves as a flat, office, classroom, workshop, studio and gallery.
The room is located in a historic building that survived the Second World War and offers a view of Warsaw's Plac Zbawiciela.
It is a personal space that has become an art installation - a world in itself, intimate and filled to the brim, chaotic in a horror vacui style, where there are almost no empty spaces. But every detail matters, and the walls tell a story - my story.

This room is a refuge.
It exists beyond time, beyond space. It is the fine line between reality and imagination, between order and chaos, between the outside and the inside.

This exhibition was 13 years in the making, although it was never intended to be an exhibition. Yet here you will find photographs, paintings, texts, video installations and much more....

Every day is a new beginning - every day is an opening.
I invite you to come in and discover it for yourself.

I invite you into a space that is more than just four walls - 'MY ROOM - MY PEACE' is an intimate story about a place where the everyday is intertwined with art and every object carries a story.
